Lavender Tour

In 1975, one of the rose traders of the time, Zeki Konur and his collaborator Nihat Yılmaz returned from a visit to France and brought about 15 lavender seedlings to 30 households. While at first it was just an ornament in the gardens of the houses or on the edges of the rose fields, the lavenders that grew effortlessly over the years have covered the fields and today it is spread over an area of ​​approximately 3 thousand acres in the villages of Kuyucak, Kuşçular, Yeşilyurt, Kılıç and its vicinity. Lavender produced in Kuyucak village meets 93% of Türkiye's production.

According to the 2013 data of the Turkish Statistical Institute, lavender production in Turkey is around 105 tons. Thus, Kuyucak village alone meets 93 percent of Türkiye's lavender production. The villagers increase the lavender production of each family due to its inability to meet the demand.

- The cutting of lavender in bunches starts around July 15 – 20
- The cutting of lavenders for drying starts around July 20 – 25
- Cutting and processing of lavender for oil and water purposes begins around August 5

- The end of the lavender season is around August 25 - 30.
